Children
We welcome children at St. Martin’s! We have a rich array of educational, fellowship, and service activities for children and youth, led by staff and adult volunteers.
Children and Worship
Children are encouraged to attend services with their families and are always welcome to receive communion.
Nursery care is offered for babies and children under six years old and is available during services. The nursery is staffed by paid caregivers and offers both outdoor play facilities and indoor activities.
Children’s worship takes children into their own space and understanding of the Word during the 9:00 am service. Children ages 3 through 10 have the option of leaving the adult service to experience worship at their own level and are mentored by volunteer adults and youth. Worship follows a liturgical format reflecting that experienced by the adults in church, Children lay their own altar, are welcomed, hear a Bible story, and have singing and prayer. They return to the main sanctuary at the Peace.

Childcare for children under 12 years is available at St. Martin’s on the first Saturday of each month from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. (When the first Saturday of the month falls on a holiday weekend, the event is moved to the following Saturday.)
Participating parents who rotate volunteer evenings caring for children receive childcare free of charge. Non-participating parents may receive childcare for all children in the immediate family at the rate of $5 per hour (maximum charge $15 for the 3-hour evening), which offsets program expenses. Walk-ins are welcome, and prior enrollment is not necessary.
Parents get some much valued free time while children enjoy new games and activities provided by the caregivers each month. A fun time can be had by all.

Children’s Outreach Ministry
We are particularly enthusiastic about our new children’s outreach ministry. Young people are encouraged to choose and support outreach projects both locally and globally and to be the hands of Christ in our world. Projects include:
Adopting a STEAC (local food bank) family at Christmas
Collecting together items for Thanksgiving baskets
Assisting at community meals
Projects helping local migrant children
World Vision.
