Social Activities
Craft Fair
Contact: Carol Boyer
A small group of “crafters” get together throughout the year to share ideas and work on projects for the Craft Fair and Sale, which will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008. All are welcome to join us to work together on projects or just to enjoy the company. Any questions, call the church office at 530-756-0444, or Carol Boyer.
Daughters of Eve
Contact: Lisa Leigh
Daughters of Eve is the women of St. Martin’s meeting occasionally for outings, parties, and retreats. Your ideas and participation are welcome!
Foyers
Contact: Laurie Lovely
Foyers group meetings are intended to increase fellowship within our church. Signups are taken in August/September, and those interested are assigned into a 6-to-8-person group. The group members then take turns hosting the group. Meetings generally take place over a meal, but the focus is on the fellowship, not the food. Traditionally, each Foyers member or couple has hosted the group in his/their house at least once. If time permits, the group may choose to continue meeting. The host for the evening is also free to invite other interested church members or individuals to that evening’s meeting.
Lunch Bunch
Contact: John Reeves
Come and join us at noon on the third Wednesday of every month in the Parish Hall to eat and socialize with your friends from St Martin. The only requirement is that you bring pot-luck food, and come with a smile on your face and be willing to talk. Everyone is welcome and age is not a factor. In fact, recently we have had a toddler attending and he is a joy. The only other requirement is that you will be asked to say something either about your life, or a subject of current importance, or whatever else the Host states is the subject of the Day. Recent examples have been for everyone to tell a little about their mother in May (Mothers Day) and their father in June (Fathers Day).
Getting to know everyone better is the purpose of LUNCH BUNCH.
Needlepoint Group
Contact: Judy Hardardt
The Needlepoint Group is in the process of undertaking a new project for St. Martin’s. At the present time, we are working with our designer in Washington State to finalize the design for a Wedding Kneeler. This Kneeler will be similar in size to the two smaller kneelers at the sides of our altar, but the design will be one that is in keeping with the beauty of the Wedding ceremony.
We anticipate that actual design completion will be in approximately 3 months and that stitching will commence shortly thereafter. Anyone who might be interested in participating in the project is encouraged to contact either Anna Karnopp or Judy Hardardt.
