The Church of St. Martin is pleased to announce the hiring of Jennifer Maloney as our Youth and Children’s Ministry Administrator. Jennifer has already assumed her new role and will be working 15 hours per week, providing administrative support to all those who are working in children’s and youth ministry at St. Martin’s. This is a new position, created and funded by the vestry as part of our ongoing commitment to children’s, youth, and family ministry.

The Church of St. Martin is currently raising funds for the rebuilding of All Saints Cathedral in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. We have already collected over $2500 in donations. You may view the poster in the narthex, which offers a visual display of the number of “bricks” that have been purchased. If you would like to donate a brick, they are $10 each. As stated at the Annual Meeting, the cathedral needs as much rebar as brick. $30 will buy a piece of rebar. Please make out checks to St. Martin with …

Evening Prayer will be held on Monday through Friday at 5:30 p.m. during Lent beginning on Thursday Feb. 23 in the church sanctuary. The service, about 30 minutes in length, will come from the Book of Common Prayer with intervals of quiet. While the service will usually be lay-led, on Wednesdays clergy will be present and Eucharist will be offered. We hope you will consider being part of this time for prayer and meditation during Lent.

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Weber’s classic Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is coming to a congregation near you! Join us for an adult spiritual faith formation class on Sunday mornings. The 6-week forum, Saving Jesus, will be facilitated by Alex Leach and Helen Campbell. Over several weeks, the class will explore the historical context around Jesus and modern-day scholarly, theological thinking. Ideally, this will help clarify who Jesus really was and who we are called to be as modern Christians. Davis Community Meals Cold Weather Shelter — Help Needed
St. Martin’s is responsible for food at the DCM Cold Weather Shelter next week, the week of January 2 – 8 and we have not quite covered the whole week. If you could possibly help with one of the following dates, please contact Janet Lane (jrlane@ucdavis.edu; 530-219-0607).
Tuesday, January 3: We need 13 sandwiches made and delivered to the shelter at 6 p.m..
Friday, January 6: We need 2 large pizzas (50% off from Woodstock’s or you can order anywhere you wish). Woodstock’s delivers them.
