Serving St. Martin's

Budget, Finance, and Stewardship

The Budget, Finance, and Stewardship Commission reviews St. Martin’s monthly financial statements and makes recommendations on how to meet certain expenses, leads the annual stewardship campaign, and drafts the parish budget at the end of the fiscal year.

Building and Grounds

St. Martin’s is blessed to have a park-like setting on a neighborhood block as our church home. The Buildings and Grounds Commission is responsible for maintaining our facilities.  Commission members use a comprehensive maintenance schedule to plan regular maintenance and repairs, including tasks that can be carried out by Commission members and tasks that can be completed during all-parish work days. Professionals perform larger tasks, such as maintaining the heating and cooling system.

The Landscape Committee works to increase the water efficiency of our landscaping by removing lawn and using native and drought-tolerant plants, and works with the Vestry to create a long-term landscaping plan for St. Martin’s.

Communications

The Communications Commission is responsible for publicity for St. Martin’s. The commission publishes contributed articles in the monthly newsletter, maintains the web site and Facebook page, and advertises special services in the local newspaper.

Helping Hands

Members of Helping Hands provide meals for those needing short-term assistance due to illness, surgery, childbirth, or a death in the family.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are lay ministers trained to provide comfort and support to people facing difficult times, such as divorce, grief, job loss, heath issues, spiritual crisis, or any upsetting or troubling circumstance. Stephen Ministry is a ministry of caring, compassion, and listening.

If you’d like more information on giving or receiving care through St. Martin’s Stephen Ministry, please contact The Rev. Margaret Grayden. A new class of Stephen Ministers will be trained at St. Martin’s this spring.
