Weekly worship services

St. Martin’s generally offers three Sunday services.

  • The 7:45 am spoken service uses Rite I. Regular attendees describe this service as “traditional, quiet, and silent.”
  • The 9:00 am service includes a mix of contemporary and traditional hymns and anthems. Singing is accompanied by guitars and piano, as well as organ.
  • The service at 11:00 am has a vested choir, anthems in a classical style, and traditional hymns, supplemented by other sources.

Both the 9:00 am and 11:00 am services use Rite II, supplemented by Enriching Our Worship and The Saint Helena Psalter for inclusive language.

  • A Tuesday noon Eucharist with healing prayers draws regular attendees from beyond the parish community.
  • Special Liturgies, such as the Lessons and Carols service in December and Tenebrae during Holy Week, are very dear to the members of the Church of St. Martin’s.

Children are welcome at all services. Church school is offered during the 9:00 am service and ends in time for children to rejoin their parents for Eucharist; childcare for infants and toddlers is offered during the 9:00 am and 11:00 am services.

Since the 1990’s, St. Martin’s has welcomed all to the altar and the congregation values that inclusion.
