Earth Month 2023

Earth Month takes place in April every year, culminating in Earth Day on April 22nd. It’s a time to raise awareness about the issues facing our planet at this time. Here is a list of some events that are available for you to participate in. Some are offered nationally, some are more local.


Film Screening
Apr. 19th @6pm

Join a film screening of The Ants & the Grasshopper either online or in person at Church of Incarnation, Santa Rosa. This film follows a Malawi farmer “in her efforts to change minds in her patriarchal village and beyond.” Click here for more information.


Lament with Earth
Apr. 20th @4:30pm

Explore your ecological grief in community, delving into themes of transformation with the BTS Center, a Portland, Maine-based organization committed to offering theologically grounded programs of continuing education and spiritual formation. More info here.


Sowing Seeds: An Ecumenical Earth Day Service
Apr. 21st @9am

This online service will lead participants into a time of contemplation and prayer while considering what actions we might take on behalf of God’s creation. More info here.


Earth Day at Forbes Ranch
Apr. 22nd, 12-2pm

Please join us at the Ranch in Esparto for prayers and a contemplative, music-based Taize service. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch. More info here.


Grace Garden Annual Plant and Pottery Sale
Apr. 22nd, 9am-12pm

Celebrate Earth Day morning with a plant and pottery sale at Grace Garden. Live music and Garden tours will add to the festivities. Location: 1620 Anderson Road, Davis.


Grounding Our Bodies, Grounding Our Souls
Apr. 29th, 9am-2pm

Join Rev. Pamela at a workshop based on her book Contemplative Gardening. Combine hands-on work in the garden and contemplative practices, with the goal of enjoying a day of embodied spirituality. No prior experience required. Location: Table Farm @ 2rd St & Anita Ave, Sacramento. More info here.
