This Sunday! All Saints’ Day and Baptisms
On Sunday, November 2, we celebrate All Saints’ Day. At both services, we will read the necrology, a list of loved ones who have died in the past year. We will renew our baptismal vows, and at 10am, we will baptize Leighton and Julian McCourt and welcome them into the household of God.

Stewardship Update
We had a fantastic Stewardship Season and Día de los Muertos celebration last Sunday! Thank you to all who were here and to those who have pledged for 2026! Your pledges help the Vestry plan a realistic budget for next year. To date, we have received 92 pledges amounting to $402,520 and are getting closer to our goal of 120 pledges and $500,000. If you have not pledged yet, it is not too late to do so. Pick up a pledge card in the narthex or the church office. Put it in the offering plate or mail to us. Or you can email your pledge to our confidential stewardship email: stewardship@churchofstmartin.org.Our ofrenda (altar) is still in the narthex through this Sunday, November 2. Feel free to bring any photos or mementos of loved ones who have died to place on the ofrenda.

Confirmation and Enquirer’s Class Begins Sunday
Rev. Pamela is offering a confirmation and enquirer’s class on the five Sundays of November from 11:30am – 1pm. This class is for everyone who is interested but is especially designed for those who are considering being confirmed or received when Bishop Megan visits St. Martin’s on Sunday, December 7. Meet in Room 6/7 for the first class this Sunday, November 2. Please talk to Rev. Pamela if you are interested in being baptized, confirmed, or received in the Episcopal Church.

Service Opportunities Related to Food Security
With SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits at risk due to the government shutdown, the need is greater than ever right now! Consider one of the following ways to help those in need in our local community.
Thanksgiving Project Donations Requested: The Social Justice & Outreach Committee is once again asking for your donations to the Thanksgiving Project, an outreach effort through which we provide grocery store gift cards to community members in need at the holidays. We are focusing our distribution on organizations that serve families with school-age children, undocumented UC Davis students, and seniors. Last year, we were able to provide thirty $100 gift cards and seventy-five $50 gift cards to those in need. If you are able to give, monetary donations (of any amount) will be gratefully accepted through November 16. Send a check to St. Martin’s Church with “Thanksgiving Project” in the memo line or use the “GIVE” button on our website and select “Thanksgiving Project” from the dropdown menu. Please contact a member of SJ&O or the church office if you have questions or want to get involved.
Bring Food for Our Weekly Collection: We collect non-perishable food and distribute it to four local pantries: STEAC, Dixon Family Services, The UC Davis Pantry, and CA House. This Sunday’s collection will go to STEAC. They have specifically requested 1-pound bags of rice, as well as pasta, peanut butter, and canned tuna and chicken. Bring your items to the narthex food basket on Sunday. Let’s do our best to give generously!
Assemble STEAC Kids’ Packs for Schools: Wednesday, November 5, 8:30-10:30am and 10:30am-12:30pm in St. Martin’s parish hall. Sign up HERE.
Seeking a St. Martin’s Rep for DCMH Meals: We need one additional rep for Thursdays, 5-7pm. St. Martin’s reps serve one week per month, are the welcoming face of St. Martin’s at the DCMH Meals in our parish hall, and are there to assist, as needed. Meet the meal guests and volunteers! Be part of providing an essential service to the Davis community!
For Youth! Davis Progressive Youth Collective (DPYC) – Cook a Meal for the Unhoused: DPYC is sponsored by several churches is Davis. The group’s next activity is to cook a meal in the Davis United Methodist Church kitchen for the unhoused guests at HEART of Davis on November 16. For details and to RSVP, see HERE.

For Children and Youth
Godly Play: Godly Play, for children TK – 6th grade, meets during the 10am service every Sunday except the Fourth Sunday. Children in Godly Play return to the church for Communion. More information HERE.
Second Sunday Youth Liturgy of the Word (LoW): On second Sundays of the month, junior high and high schoolers are invited to meet with Rev. Debbie during the first half of the 10am service to explore what the Gospel lesson is saying to them. Meet Rev. Debbie in Room 8 on November 9.

Yolo Indivisible Disappeared in America Visibility Event
Wednesday, November 5, 4:30 – 5:30pm
Yolo Indivisible sponsors a visibility event the first Wednesday of the month in several Yolo County cities out of concern over the increase in funding for ICE and increased ICE activity. Locations: In front of City Hall at 23 Russell Blvd, Davis; In front of the courthouse at 1000 Main St., Woodland; At Jefferson and Park Blvds in West Sacramento. More information HERE.

Office Closures
The church office will be closed on Friday, November 7 due to Diocesan Convention and on Tuesday, November 11 for Veterans Day.
