Native American Heritage Month: As we “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being,” we also remind all that November is Native American Heritage Month. Our diocese has provided a variety of Native American Heritage Month resources HERE.

This Sunday! First Sunday of Advent
On this first Sunday of Advent, we will baptize CJ Campbell and welcome him into the household of God. Beginning Sunday, you will also find two prayer trees in the narthex. Feel free to leave a prayer request or thanksgiving on the tree.
Confirmation and Enquirer’s Class: The last class is Sunday from 11:30am – 1pm in Room 6/7. The class is open to anyone and everyone but is designed for those who are going to be baptized, confirmed, or received when Bishop Megan visits on December 7.
Nursery Closed on Sunday, November 30: Our nursery, for infants through age 5, is closed on Sunday to give the nursery staff a Thanksgiving weekend. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Advent Worship, Learning, and Fellowship Opportunities
Wednesday Night Soup Suppers and Holden Evening Prayer: Several local congregations are coming together at Davis Lutheran Church (317 E 8th St, Davis) for a soup supper and worship on Wednesdays, December 3, 10, and 17 at 6pm. Dinner and fellowship will be from 6-6:45, followed by sung Evening Prayer. If you can bring soup to serve 8-10 on any of the dates, please let the office know. Rev. Pamela, Belfry chaplain Portia Hopkins, and Pastor Emily Pickens-Jones of Davis United Methodist will lead the mediations at these services around themes of simplicity and “Just this. Just now.” Come join us!
Living Well through Advent on Zoom: Helen Campbell will lead this class on Mondays December 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 2-3:30pm on Zoom. The materials are from Living Compass with a theme this Advent of “Practicing Generosity with All Your Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind.” Please let Helen or the church office know if you’d like to attend. Drop-ins are always welcome, but you’ll need the Zoom link.
Bishop’s Visit, December 7 – One 9:30am Service: Bishop Megan will be here to preach, preside, baptize, confirm, and receive next Sunday, December 7. She will also bless our newly renovated ceiling stained-glass window. We will have one 9:30am service so that we all can worship together when the bishop is here. Stay for a special coffee hour after the service where we can welcome Bishop Megan and congratulate those being baptized, confirmed and received.
Advent Lessons and Carols, December 14, 4pm: Join us for a candlelit Advent Lessons and Carols, an evening of Scripture, choral music, and reflective readings. This year’s service pairs the ancient Advent texts with music by Native American composers and words from Native American poets and philosophers. Music will include Wyandot’s Realm, Andrew Balfour’s powerful reclamation of the Huron Carol. All are welcome!

St. Martin’s Children’s Christmas Pageant
We will have a children’s Christmas Pageant on December 24 at the 3pm service. All children, even those visiting for the day, are welcome to be part of this no-rehearsal pageant. If you know now that your children would like to participate, please let Sheri Reynolds, Matt or Missy Campbell, or the church office know.

Christmas Flower Donations
If you would like to donate Christmas flowers in memory of or thanksgiving for loved ones this Christmas, we will list the names of your loved ones in the Christmas bulletins. This year, Christmas flower donations will go to the Flower Guild to help with the costs of greening of the church as well as flowers throughout the year. Please write a check to the Church of St. Martin with “Christmas Flower Donation” in the memo line. Or use the GIVE button on our website. Please write the office with the names of those you wish to have noted in the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day bulletins. The deadline to have names listed is December 21.
