Music Notes for 10am Service on Sunday
During Lent, we depart in silence from the service rather than hearing a postlude. During this season, Jeffrey will be focusing on the music of Dan Locklair (b. 1949), an American composer widely known for his sacred choral and organ music. His “Arias” for organ are lyrical and song-like, emphasizing expressive melody and gentle harmonic color over virtuosic display. How to Find Sermons Online
Were you unable to come to church but want to hear the sermon? Our sermons are always online in several formats: on video on our YouTube channel, in writing on our website, and in audio on our podcasts. Find Rev. Lent Worship, Fellowship, and Formation
Living Well Through Lent Online Reflection Group: Join Helen Campbell on Mondays during Lent from 2-3:30pm on Zoom. The theme is “Cultivating Healing and Wellness.” The next meeting is March 2. Contact the church office or Helen for the Zoom link.

Rector’s Tuesday Evening Book Study of Richard Rohr’s The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage: We had a wonderful first session, with more than 20 people participating. To make room for everyone both in person and online, and to provide better sound, we’ll be moving into the church for the remainder of our sessions. The next session is March 3. What you need to know:

• Some of us are starting by breaking bread together at the DCMH meal in the parish hall at 5:45pm. This is entirely optional but is a way to get to know each other and our neighbors better.
• The book study starts at 6:30pm and ends at 8pm. The church will be open by 6:15pm.
• If you were not at our first session, you are still very welcome to join! Please be in touch with Rev. Pamela or the church office so we can get you the Zoom link or set up a chair for you.
• Before the second class, please try to read Chapters 2 and 3 in advance, and/or listen to the corresponding podcast episodes.

Candlelight Prayer Vigils: In the spirit of remembering our brokenness as well as God’s call to let our light shine, a series of candlelight prayer vigils are taking place at Davis churches on the third Sunday of the month at 7pm. The next two vigils will be held on March 15 at Lutheran Church of the Incarnation and April 19 at St. Martin’s.

Wednesday Night Soup Suppers: We are partnering with other area churches for Wednesday night Soup Suppers and Evening Prayer during Lent. This Lent, we’ll be at Lutheran Church of the Incarnation. Supper starts at 6pm, with the sung Evening Prayer service (Vespers) starting at 6:45pm and lasting about 30 minutes. Each congregation contributes two soups per Wednesday, so please sign up in the narthex if you can bring soup and/or bread on a Wednesday during Lent. The next soup supper is Wednesday, March 4.

Service Opportunities
STEAC Children’s Food Packs Packing Event: Help STEAC assemble weekend food packs for children in Davis Joint Unified School District who may be food insecure. The next packing event is on Wednesday, March 4 from 8:30 – 9:45am and 9:45 – 11am. Sign up directly with STEAC.

Volunteer for Heart of Davis Safe Parking Program: This program facilitates homeless individuals sleeping in their cars safely and legally. The program is seeking volunteers in the evenings and mornings. See the Heart of Davis website for more information.

Diocesan-Wide Youth Summer Service Project
All high-school aged students (including those entering or graduating in summer 2026) and/or chaperones are invited to consider joining the Sierra Service Project on July 12-18 in Del Norte County, CA or July 19-25 in Navajo Nation, AZ. Scholarships are available from the Diocese, and St. Martin’s may be able to cover some of the remainder. Tim Williams and Rev. Pamela are both considering going on the Del Norte trip. Find more information on Sierra Service Projects on the Sierra Service Project website. If your youth is interested, please have them fill out this Diocesan interest form as soon as possible. The form is not a commitment but a request to continue receiving information.

Diocesan Oasis 2S/LGBTQIA+ Meetings
Oasis meeting nights are now on the third Monday of each month from 7-8:30pm on Zoom. The next meeting is Monday, March 16. Oasis is a safe online space for 2S/LGBTQIA+ people to gather, reflect, and share. Information and Zoom links can be requested via email at RainbowMinistriesEDNC@gmail.com.

Supporting Our Migrant Neighbors – Yolo Indivisible Disappeared in America Visibility Event
Yolo Indivisible holds a monthly peaceful demonstration on the first Wednesday of every month from 4:30-5:30pm in Davis, Woodland, and West Sacramento to show concern about ICE activity and the need for due process for migrants.   Announcements for the Week of Sunday, February 22, 2026 Fourth Sunday with Pop-Up Choir at 10amThis Sunday at 10am is a Fourth Sunday, meaning the service is more interactive than usual and more accessible to the youngest in our congregation. It’s also the first Sunday in Lent, so we will process around the church during The Great Litany at the beginning of the service.
