Did you know we have a new Vestry member? On March 18, 2025, the Vestry appointed George Kuodza to one of the vacant Vestry positions. Below, George shares an introduction.

Our journey to the Church of St. Martin began in 2023, shortly after the birth of our son. My mother-in-law was the first to attend a service here while visiting us from Zimbabwe, and she later invited us to join her. Since then, my wife and I have felt truly welcomed by this community. While I grew up attending the United Methodist Church in Zimbabwe and my wife was raised Anglican, we’ve found in St. Martin’s a spiritual home that embraces both our faith traditions and our growing family. Professionally, I am a medical doctor from Ukraine and currently a Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Davis. My research focuses on how early-life environmental exposures can influence neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism. My journey, from Zimbabwe to Ukraine to the U.S., has deepened my understanding of service, compassion, and the power of faith in navigating life’s uncertainties. My wife, Fadzai, and I, along with our young son, are grateful to be part of this welcoming and inclusive community.
