Message from the Very Rev. Pamela from March 6, 2026:
Dear Ones,
We had a wonderful Vestry retreat last weekend at the Mercy Center in Auburn. All nine of our Vestry members were in attendance, as well as Gabe Avila, our Director of Operations and Clerk of the Vestry, and myself.
We agreed that we want to continue to focus on the three priorities that we established last year, not just as Vestry priorities but really as parish priorities. In my own words, these are:
To create and maintain St. Martin’s as a welcoming and safe space for all
To move forward with our efforts to care for God’s creation
To provide opportunities for all ages to deepen their faith through formation and fellowship.
In the coming weeks you will doubtless hear more about these priorities. You will also be invited to join in this work! Just this morning a team met to discuss programs and events for children, youth, and families; I’m especially excited about plans that are coming together for intergenerational learning and fun in the spring and summer months, as well as finishing up strong with the Godly Play play program year.
The Vestry also discussed how Benedictine spirituality informs so much of our work and worship in the Episcopal Church. We also, of course, prayed for peace as the news of war reached us early Saturday morning. Our Sunday morning Eucharist was simple and intimate, a lovely way to end our time together.
Please continue to pray for your Vestry, as they take on both spiritual and administrative leadership at this important time in the world and the life of our community. We are very blessed!
Faithfully,
Pamela+

Pamela from April 3, 2026: Dear Ones, Good Friday is the one day of the entire year when we are not allowed to celebrate the Eucharist.
