Message from Rev. Maggie from July 24, 2026:
Dear People of St. Martin’s,
The road to ordination is long, and I am delighted to have the privilege of beginning ordained ministry alongside you. I am so excited to get to know each of you over the coming months!
A bit about me: I am a lifelong Epsicopalian and grew up attending Christ Episcopal Church, Alameda. My family was very involved in every aspect of parish life, from rummage sales to food banks; I even served as a youth member of the vestry in high school. My summers were spent at both St. Dorothy’s Rest and the Bishop’s Ranch, each of which rooted in me a deep attunement to the movings of the Divine in all of creation.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from California State University, Chico and went on to serve as Program Director for St. Dorothy’s Rest. Subsequently, I served as Program Director for Camp Galilee in the Diocese of Nevada before moving east for seminary at Yale Divinity School. My studies, in addition to the typical seminary curriculum of church history and theology, focused on eco-theology, asking questions like, “What does it mean to be creatures living amongst other creatures whom God also created and has relationship with?”
I love to read fantasy novels, spend time outdoors, knit, play with my cats Nala, Sarabi, and Linda, and explore new restaurants with my fiance, Christopher. Quality time with friends and loved ones is my biggest love language!
I look forward to learning more about what St. Martin’s is for you and witnessing how God is moving in this place!
