Message from the Very Rev. Pamela from March 13, 2026:
Dear Ones,
As we are turning the corner in Lent and moving quickly toward Holy Week, I hope you have been able to participate in some of our services and offerings, such as Living Well through Lent, The Tears of Things book study, and the lovely Wednesday night soup suppers. If circumstances have gotten in the way, that’s okay, too! The wisdom of Lenten spiritual practices is available to us throughout the year and at all seasons of our life.
This Sunday I will be preaching and presiding at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Galt. It’s more than just a “visit”—I hope that in time we will have a deeper connection with St. Luke’s and the good people there. We have been accepted as partner parishes in the curacy program being run by the Diocese, which means that, if all goes well, this summer we will be welcoming a new priest who will split their time between the two parishes. Please keep the curacy program and St. Luke’s in your prayers! We are hoping for a priest with a heart for formation and fellowship, and I trust your prayers can make a difference in helping the right person find their way to us.
It feels appropriate that this Sunday, the fourth Sunday in Lent, is often called “Laetare” or Rejoicing Sunday. Even in the midst of so much sorrow in the world, people of faith will always find reasons to hope and even rejoice. Signs of spring are everywhere, when we have eyes to see! I rejoice in the faithfulness, openness, and warmth of the people of St. Martin’s and the many ways that the love of God in Christ is alive among us.
Blessings,
Pamela+

Pamela from April 3, 2026: Dear Ones, Good Friday is the one day of the entire year when we are not allowed to celebrate the Eucharist.
