Sunday, March 29, Palm Sunday: 8am traditional worship; 10am palm procession with donkeys, Passion play, and Holy Eucharist. After the 10am service, join kids of all ages in painting wooden eggs.

Wednesday, April 1, 7pm, A Musical Meditation on the Nine Nocturnes of Tenebrae featuring music by Frédéric Chopin.

Thursday, April 2, 7pm, Maundy Thursday: Holy Eucharist with optional foot washing.

Friday, April 3, Good Friday Stations of the Cross at 12pm; Good Friday Liturgy at 7pm; optional veneration of the cross at both Good Friday services.

Saturday, April 4, 8pm, The Great Vigil of Easter: Dramatic readings, Holy Eucharist, reception following.

Sunday, April 5, 8am and 10am, Easter Day: Festive Holy Eucharists with music and choir at both. Easter Egg Hunt for children of all ages and refreshments follow the 10am service.

“Brewing Stories” Fundraiser for Our Immigrant Neighbors, April 11, 5:30 – 7pm
Attend a fundraising evening of beer tasting and banter at Sudwerk in Davis with St. Martin’s “Pope of Foam” and UC Davis Professor Emeritus of Malting and Brewing Science, Charlie Bamforth. All funds raised will support our migrant neighbors through the Yolo Interfaith Immigration Network (YIIN). Tickets are $50 per person. Interfaith Events in the Davis/Sacramento Area
This Sunday Night – Candlelight Prayer Vigil: In the spirit of remembering our brokenness as well as God’s call to let our light shine, a series of candlelight prayer vigils are taking place at Davis churches on the third Sunday of the month. The next vigil is tonight, March 15, at 7pm at Lutheran Church of the Incarnation. The following vigil will be on April 19 at St. Martin’s.

Monthly Interfaith Prayer Vigil for Immigrants, Monday, March 16, 12pm: Join Sacramento ACT (Area Congregations Together) outside the Moss Federal Building (650 Capitol Mall) for an interfaith vigil in support of our immigrant families and neighbors. This month’s vigil will feature Sister Simone Campbell, known from the Nuns on the Bus tour. At the age of 80, she is an attorney and activist. Click for more information on Sac ACT.

Wednesday Night Soup Suppers: We are partnering with other area churches for Wednesday night Soup Suppers and Evening Prayer during Lent. This Lent, we meet at Lutheran Church of the Incarnation. Supper starts at 6pm, with the sung Evening Prayer service (Vespers) starting at 6:45pm and lasting about 30 minutes. Please sign up in the narthex if you can bring soup and/or bread to share. The next soup supper is Wednesday, March 18.

Davis Interfaith Association (DIA) Meeting, March 19 at 12pm: The Davis Interfaith Association meets once a month. Their next meeting is Thursday, March 19 at 12pm at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B Street in Davis. Lunch and presentation by the Quaker community.

Movie about Homelessness: The documentary, The Right to Exist, will be shown at the Davis United Methodist Church, 1620 Anderson Rd, on Friday, March 20. Doors open at 6:30pm, film begins at 7pm. The Right to Exist explores the homelessness crisis in Sacramento through a combination of personal stories and in-depth analysis. The film follows the city-authorized Camp Resolution, a self-governed, women-run homeless encampment whose struggle for continued existence garnered national attention. A discussion with the documentary’s film maker, Nick Anderson, will follow the screening. Please RSVP at bb20131100@gmail.com.

Lent Fellowship and Formation
Living Well Through Lent Online Reflection Group: Join Helen Campbell on Mondays during Lent. The next session will be on Monday, March 16, 2-3:30pm on Zoom.

Tuesday Evening Book Study of Richard Rohr’s, The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage: Before class, all are welcome to join an optional dinner at the DCMH meal in the parish hall at 5:45pm. The book study runs 6:30-8pm in the church (church opens 6:15pm). Zoom participation is also an option. If you were not at earlier sessions, you are still very welcome—just be in touch with Rev. Pamela or the office so we can get you set up. Before the fourth class on Tuesday, March 17, please read Chapters 5 and 6 and/or listen to the corresponding podcast episodes.

Opportunities for Fellowship & Service – Youth and All Ages
Summer Camp Information Session, March 24, 6:30 – 7:30pm on Zoom: Summer camp is such a great gift we can share with our children and youth. To help you know about your options, the Diocese is hosting a zoom meeting with representatives from three camps, all of which are within or next-door to our diocese: Camp Living Waters, Camp Galilee, and St. Dorothy’s Rest. Join representatives from these three camps as they share about their camp, highlights, and what to expect as a parent and as a camper. Once you register for the Zoom meeting we will share the Zoom link.

Bring Nonperishable Food for Our Weekly Collection: “Every person. Every week. One item of food.” This is the motto of our weekly non-perishable food collection. Sunday’s food goes to The Pantry at UC Davis and next week’s to CA House Multicultural Living Community.

Music Notes for 10am Service on Sunday
This Sunday, Jeffrey continues to explore the meditative works of Dan Locklair, and the Sanctuary Choir will sing “The Bells of Norwich.” This song by English songwriter Sydney Carter (1915–2004) is inspired by the words of the 14th-century mystic Julian of Norwich, who famously wrote, “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.” Julian spoke these words of hope after visions of Christ during a time of serious illness. That message resonates with today’s Gospel (John 9:1–41), where Jesus brings sight to a man born blind, leading him from darkness into light. Find the complete music notes on our website.

During this season, Jeffrey will be focusing on the music of Dan Locklair (b. 1949), an American composer widely known for his sacred choral and organ music. His “Arias” for organ are lyrical and song-like, emphasizing expressive melody and gentle harmonic color over virtuosic display.   Announcements for the Week of Sunday, February 22, 2026 Fourth Sunday with Pop-Up Choir at 10amThis Sunday at 10am is a Fourth Sunday, meaning the service is more interactive than usual and more accessible to the youngest in our congregation. It’s also the first Sunday in Lent, so we will process around the church during The Great Litany at the beginning of the service.
