Announcements for the Week of Sunday, April 26, 2026

This Saturday, April 25! LGBTQ+ Hike
Join St. Martin’s and other members of Yolo Interfaith Queer Alliance this Saturday, April 25 from 10-11am for a short hike in Davis, followed by a picnic lunch. This gathering is open to LGBTQ+ folks and allies and is intended as a welcoming space to connect in community outdoors. The walk will be relaxed, with opportunities for reflection as we explore finding spirituality in nature. Bring your own food and anything you would like for a comfortable picnic. Parking at the trailhead, near (limited) picnic tables. Feel free to bring a friend. Please contact the church office for starting point of hike.

This Sunday, April 26! Fourth Sunday, Scout Sunday, and Celebration of Earth Day
Sunday at 10am is a Fourth Sunday, meaning the service is shorter, more interactive, and more accessible to the youngest in our congregation. Godly Play does not meet on Fourth Sundays. Also, anyone can join our Pop-Up Choir for the anthem. Come to rehearse the anthem at 9:30am in the church, or just come up and sing, even if you didn’t make it to rehearsal. We are also celebrating Earth Day this Sunday. We’ll have a special creation-themed sermon and a fun, family-friendly Fourth Sunday.

Scout Sunday: It’s also Scout Sunday! Troop 466 is joining us for worship at the 10am service and demonstrating some of their skills on the Great Lawn after church. We’ve sponsored Troop 466 here at St. Martin’s for many years, and we offer meeting and storage space to Troop 139. We extend a huge welcome to the Scouts!

This Sunday! Formation, Fellowship, and Prayer Opportunities in Honor of Earth Day
Creation Care Forum, April 26, 12pm: After the 10am service, Rev. Pamela will offer a 1-hour forum on Creation Care at St. Martin’s and beyond. The forum will include a light lunch and cover what is happening at the diocesan and church-wide levels and how we can talk about creation care in ways that are loving, liberating, and life-giving, rather than leading to despair and disconnection. Meet in the parish hall. Please RSVP to the church office by Friday evening, April 24, so that we know how much food to plan for.

Twilight Labyrinth Walk and Interfaith Candlelight Vigil, April 26, 7:30pm: Come walk the labyrinth and join an interfaith candlelight vigil where we will pray for peace—peace among nations, peace in our hearts, and peace with the Earth. Meet on the labyrinth any time between 7:30pm and 8pm.

Garden Tour Thanks
We had a very successful and well-attended garden tour last Sunday, and the weather couldn’t have been better! We sincerely thank the parishioners who opened up their gardens: Harriette Andrews, Dorothy Brandon, Carole Hom, Bob Holm & Janet Lane, Jessie Ann Owens & Martha Macri. Special thanks go to Carole Hom for organizing the event and creating an easy-to-use map, and to all of you who visited the gardens. See you at our next garden tour! We hope to make this an annual event.
