Fourth Sunday and Annual Meeting – This Sunday, January 25
Fourth Sunday, One Service Only at 10am: January 25 is a Fourth Sunday, meaning the service is a little shorter than usual and more accessible to the youngest in our congregation. We also have a Pop-Up Choir; anyone can join in the Offertory Anthem. There’s an optional rehearsal at 9:30am, but you’re always welcome to sing, even if you can’t make the rehearsal.
Annual Meeting: Our Annual Meeting, which lasts about an hour, is part of the 10am service . We will elect Vestry members and Diocesan Convention delegates and review the 2026 budget. Before the meeting, we’ll have coffee and snacks in the narthex. If you’d like to bring a snack to share, please bring it to the kitchen or narthex on Sunday.
For Children: During the meeting, children TK – 6th grade can meet in Room 4 with Godly Play staff for fun activities. The Nursery will remain open during the meeting for infants through age 5.

Reflections, January 2026 Issue Now Available
The second issue of St. Martin’s magazine, Reflections, is available online and in the narthex. This issue contains stories on Epiphany at St. Martin’s, the Bishop’s visit last December, responding faithfully to immigration enforcement, Vestry news, upcoming events and more. This Saturday Evening! Sacramento Chamber Music Society Concert, Saturday, January 24, 7:30pm
The Sacramento Chamber Music Society performs this Saturday at St. Martin’s with a program consisting of pieces by Reineke, Mieczyslaw Weinberg, Schulhoff, and Ralph Vaughan Wiliams. Tickets $35 general/$30 at the door for St. Martin’s members/Free for anyone 22 years or younger. Tickets and more information HERE.
Interfaith and Other Community Events
Davis Interfaith Association Meeting, Monday, January 26, 6:30pm:The Davis Interfaith Association (DIA) aims to celebrate the diversity of religions in our local area and to foster understanding between them. The Rev. Dr. Portia Hopkins, Chaplain of the Belfry, is the current chair. DIA’s first activity in 2026 is a meeting and social on Monday, January 26 at 6:30pm, in the Ignatius Room at St. James. The topic will be a presentation on Islam. More information HERE.
Community Forum on Human Trafficking Awareness, January 28, 6pm: Soroptimist’s Davis, Empower Yolo, the Davis Police, and others will offer a community forum in honor of human trafficking awareness month on January 28, 6-7:30pm at the Veterans Memorial in Davis. There will be a youth-focused and adult-focused presentation with a survivor speaker for each room. Learn more HERE.
Celebration of Abraham, February 1, 3pm: Celebration of Abraham will take place on February 1 at 3pm at the Woodland Mosque and Islamic Center, 613 East Street in Woodland. Celebration of Abraham aims to foster learning and understanding among faiths. The theme is “Returning to Abraham: Reflections in Courage.” A free- will offering goes to Joshua’s House, a hospice home for the unhoused in Sacramento. Service Opportunities
Bring Nonperishable Food for Our Weekly Collection: Help our local pantries serve the food insecure by bringing non-perishable food items to church to be distributed to four local pantries. This Sunday’s collection will go to The Pantry at UC Davis; next week’s will go to CA House (Multicultural Living Community) with any toiletry items going to The Belfry.
Cook a Meal for Paul’s Place with the Davis Progressive Youth Collective: The Davis Progressive Youth Collective holds monthly events for youth in 6th through 12th grades. On Sunday, January 25, 1:30-3pm they will cook a tasty meal for the unhoused guests of Paul’s Place shelter. Cooking will take place at Lutheran Church of the Incarnation (1701 Russell Blvd. in Davis). RSVP HERE.
Upcoming Formation Opportunities
An Evening with Celtic Spirituality Teacher J. Philip Newell, Friday, February 13, St. Helena: Grace St. Helena, one of the churches in our deanery, is hosting internationally renowned writer and teacher, John Philip Newell. At this free event, John Philip will be speaking on his 2021 book, Sacred Earth, Sacred Soul: Celtic Wisdom for Reawakening to What Our Souls Know and Healing the World. Exploring St. Brigid & Celtic Spirituality, Sunday, February 22: Join Rev. Pamela after the 10am service to talk about the “other” Irish saint (Patrick’s day is coming soon!) and what we can learn about caring for the earth and growing closer to God from the Celtic tradition.
Sacred Journeys: An Empathy-Based Activity and Dialogue Series on Migration with Dignity: St. Martin’s will partner with Trinity Cathedral in a pilot of a new curriculum being developed by The Episcopal Church on the topic of migration. The 10-session series will explore personal stories, videos, books, artwork, and articles about immigration. The pilot will begin in late February. We have three spaces available for St. Martin’s in the pilot group. Please let the office know if you would be interested in being in the pilot group.

During this season, Jeffrey will be focusing on the music of Dan Locklair (b. 1949), an American composer widely known for his sacred choral and organ music. His “Arias” for organ are lyrical and song-like, emphasizing expressive melody and gentle harmonic color over virtuosic display.
