Dear Neighbors,
You are invited to join us in a Community Sing Out on the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, April 22, 12-1 and 5-6. It is more important now, than ever, that we find time to express joy, solidarity, and kindness — and take action to protect our planet and the people on it.
You are invited to….
- Check Out Our Songbook with 7 unifying songs for #EarthDaySingOutDavis
- Practice the Songs with your household while you shelter-in-place (esp. Fridays, 12-1)
- Sing Out! Your front or back door, or in the park while exercising, with a safe distance from neighbors, following CDC guidelines, on Earth Day.
Don’t let Covid 19 stop you from using your voice!
This Earth Day, Davis community members are also launching #Greenisforgratitude — a project to express appreciation to public health and service workers on the frontlines of responding to the pandemic.
Green ribbons will be tied to light poles and trees along with visual messages of love, compassion, and gratitude. Residents can request a ribbon online at climatestrikedavis@gmail.com and a sanitized #greenisforgratidue kit will be home delivered..
Many doctors, nurses, social workers, administrative personnel and others have been working long hours to provide the best care possible during this emergency. They are under incredible pressure, making personal sacrifices to continue providing essential services to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
Please consider writing, drawing or otherwise crafting a message of gratitude to frontline public health workers in Yolo County.
Letters and cards can be mailed to:
