Message from the Very Rev. Pamela from May 25, 2025:

Dear Ones,

Bike helmets, seed packets, the St. Martin’s labyrinth: What do these three things have in common? They’re all going to be blessed on Sunday!

Ride your bike here, if you can, or bring your bike helmet or light, and seeds or a garden tool, and we’ll bless everything after church on Sunday (yes, I’ll bless things after the 8am service too!). Then we’ll have a rogation procession around the grounds, asking God’s continued blessing on this beautiful campus and all who use it.

Later this summer, we’ll be starting some education and formation programs that I think will interest many of you. Please mark your calendars now for after the 10am service on June 8 (Pentecost Sunday!), when we’ll have a presentation about Education for Ministry, or EfM, a transformative program that we’ll be offering here once again in the fall. It’s a big commitment, so we want people to have time to learn about it and consider their schedules before signing up.

Finally—drumroll, please!—I’m announcing a St. Martin’s Summer Read: The Serviceberry, by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Fans of her mega bestseller, Braiding Sweetgrass, will know that Kimmerer is one of the most thoughtful voices on the scene today, weaving together insights from her Patawatami culture and her work as a botanist to help us imagine a more generous, integrated, and thriving community and world. I’ll announce discussion dates and times soon.

Can’t wait to see you on Sunday!

Blessings,

Pamela+
