Message from the Very Rev. Pamela from April 24, 2026:

Dear Ones,

In our Baptismal Covenant, we promise to respect the dignity of every human being, seek and serve Christ in all persons, and love our neighbors as ourselves. For years now, the Episcopal Church has recognized the importance of doing racial healing and justice work as part of fulfilling these vows.

Soon you’ll have an opportunity to take a one-day workshop, “I Will with God’s Help” that addresses race and racism in the context of our church and society. I am taking the May 9 workshop in person here at St. Martin’s, and I’d urge you to do so as well.

Although I’ve already completed three Sacred Ground circles (two as a facilitator), I look forward to this new learning opportunity. I know it will bring different people, and therefore new perspectives, to the table. We’re fortunate to have this resource literally coming to us—but it won’t happen if we don’t have enough people sign up by the deadline, so please check out the information below and register. I’m happy to cover the fees for anyone who needs financial assistance.

I was encouraged by some feedback I read, offered by recent participants. One person from Shasta County wrote, “The speakers, the videos they shared, and the discussions were all equally valuable in different ways. I took a lot of ideas away from the workshop with me—one being that guilt is not productive, but knowledge and discussion and listening is. We can do better if we listen, and the [workshop] helped me do that in a new way.”

Blessings,

Pamela+

Pamela from April 10, 2026: Dear Ones, In northern California, April is not the cruelest month (sorry, T.S.
