More than just weeding and fixing things…
We keep things functional and welcoming for our own ministries and for those of the many groups who use our space.
We do this with joy so that our facilities are in good condition for future generations and so that our buildings and grounds are a place where people can feel God’s presence.
- We assist the Rector in keeping the buildings and grounds in good condition and looking their best. We are blessed to have extensive open space and a park-like setting.
- Guided by a comprehensive maintenance schedule that we created, we assist with regular maintenance, including tasks that we can carry out ourselves (e.g., changing light bulbs, simple plumbing, repairing signs).
- We interact with professional vendors who perform larger tasks (e.g., parking lot and heating/air conditioning maintenance).
- Our goal is to attend to maintenance issues in a timely manner to prevent small matters from becoming larger.
- We carry out several gardening and work days during the year.
- We work with the Rector to plan improvements, such as the children’s outdoor play space, and with the Vestry to move our space toward becoming carbon neutral.
We meet monthly on the second Sunday of the month from 9:00-9:45am to discuss “all things buildings and grounds.”
