St. Martin’s News

St. Martin’s News: 4/19/2024

Here you can find weekly news and events at the Episcopal Church of St. Martin’s. This changes every week.

St. Martin’s at the Fearless Faith Revival
Our parish’s efforts to build on the important work of becoming a zero-carbon church will be featured at the diocesan Revival in Roseville on Saturday, April 27. St. Martin’s is one of the Stories of Courage that will be displayed at the immersive exhibit. Our work with Seeds of Justice and land-based ministry really stands at the intersection of social justice and care for God’s creation and we’re proud to have others in the diocese learn more about it. If you can volunteer to help staff this exhibit, let Rev. Pamela or the church office know. For more information about the Revival and to register: https://www.fearlessfaith2024.org/

Save the Dates! Worship and Events Now through June

Sunday, May 5: First Sunday, Rogation Sunday, and Scout Sunday!
The first Sunday in May also coincides with Rogation Days, one of the times set apart by the Church to pray for farms, gardens, and church grounds. To top it all off, we’ll use that Sunday to welcome our Boy Scout troup and renew our relationship with them.

Saturday, May 18: Rogation-themed Spirituality in Nature Gathering at Forbes Ranch. A short, informal worship service and opportunity for reflection in the beautiful almond orchard at the Forbes Ranch in Esparto, followed by a picnic dinner.

Sunday, May 19: Pentecost Sunday. On Pentecost we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit to the apostles; this great feast day is also known as “the birthday of the church.” Wear red and bring cupcakes to share!

Sunday, June 2: Ministry Fair and End-of-Year Picnic. A combined service at 10am only. This is a First Sunday and a Ministry Fair, and the end of our program year. If you are a ministry leader and want to share the great work you do in and for the church and the world, here’s your chance.
